Remote Editing
You can write a strategy in a local editor and have it synced to FMZ automatically on save. VSCode, Vim and Sublime Text 3 are supported; JavaScript strategies can also use WebStorm and Python strategies PyCharm. Blockly visual strategies do not support remote editing.

Steps
- Click "Remote Editing" on the strategy editing page. The top of the dialog has download links for the editor plugins; follow one to the plugin page and install it (installation differs slightly between editors).
- The dialog shows the current strategy's remote sync token. If it is empty, click "Update Token" to generate one.
- Save the strategy source locally and insert the token line shown in the dialog as the first line (e.g.
// fmz@<token>forJavaScript,# fmz@<token>forPython); from then on every save is synced to the platform.
Without a plugin you can upload the local source with curl (the dialog shows the full command with your token), for example:
bash
curl -T quant.js -H "Authorization: Bearer <token>" https://www.fmz.com/rsync
Managing the token
- "Update Token": generates a new token; the old one stops working at once.
- "Delete Token": deletes the strategy's token and turns remote editing off.
Anyone holding the token can overwrite the strategy's source code, so keep it private.
